Atlanta Doberman Pinscher Club

Are you an accountant?

who has experience with 501c3 organizations? The Atlanta Doberman Pinscher Club is a 501c3 organization, but we received this status under the Doberman Pinscher Club of America. We would like to get our own 501c3 classification, but need help filing the paperwork. If you can help, please email

We thank you for your interest in our family of Georgians who are proud to be owned and loved by their Dobermans!

For well over two decades, the Atlanta Doberman Pinscher Club has strived to fulfill its mission through various activities including two annual specialty shows, temperament testing, and most importantly, periodic meetings where members network and share a wealth of information with each other as well as hear from a spectrum of different speakers on matters of health, nutrition, fun things to do with your dogs, rescue, etc.  Our members range from devoted exhibitors and breeders who have made the breed their life's work, to caring pet owners who simply want to enjoy their Doberman to the fullest extent.

Club Sponsored Events in 2011

  • Canine Good Citizenship test - open to all breeds.
  • Meet the Breed with Atlanta Doberman Pinscher Rescue - we hold 2 or 3 "meet-and-greet" events/year. Come out and meet our rescue dogs, talk with club members, get to know the breed.
  • Pet First Aid Seminar and Certification Program with PetTech Atlanta - open to anyone interested in pet first aid.
  • Agility Fun Day (for members only) - bring your dog and try out agility with real instructors on real equipment!
  • vWd (Von Willebrand's) Clinic - test your dog to see if he/she is Von Willebrand's affected.
  • One or two AKC licensed specialty shows each year.  A specialty show is a show where only AKC registered Doberman Pinschers of an allowable color and who are over 6 months of age are exhibited.

Purpose

The Atlanta Doberman Pinscher Club (ADPC) is a non-profit chapter club of the Doberman Pinscher Club of America

The objectives of the ADPC are:

  • to promote the public's knowledge and appreciation of dogs in general and Doberman Pinschers in particular;

  • to produce, publish, and distribute to the general public educational materials about the proper care, treatment, breeding, health, development and training of Doberman Pinschers;

  • to acknowledge and advance the critical role of an AKC recognized chapter club in providing education, health research, and support of rescue and reduction of overpopulation for the benefit of the general public, purebred dogs, and Doberman Pinschers in particular;

  • to preserve and protect the Doberman Pinscher Breed and do all possible to bring its natural qualities to perfection;

  • to urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by The American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which Doberman Pinschers shall be judged;

  • to do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, obedience trials, and other American Kennel Club approved events;

  • to conduct sanctioned and licensed specialty shows and obedience trials under the rules of The American Kennel Club (AKC);

  • to encourage members and breeders to pursue membership in The Doberman Pinscher Club of America and subscribe to the Code of Ethics of that club.
